Berry Sleepy/ Berry Awake among brands singled out by Retail Excellence Awards
WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., March 1, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The Drug Store News Retail Excellence Awards (REX) strive to aid retailers in identifying those brands that can help them make a difference in meeting consumer needs.
This is especially important with the accelerated growth of the HBC natural products segment, a category that has been growing steadily at double-digits for at least five years. The innovative Berry Sleepy and Berry Awake berry-based supplements were among the brands singled out by the recent Drug Store News Retail Excellence award.
Berry Sleepy is a powerful, natural super fruit-based sleep aid. Berry Sleepy had its start in Kansas City with two sleep-deprived parents looking for a natural way to get some much- needed sleep.
Adrienne and Greg Doring had tried many of the over the counter synthetic sleep aids, but were increasingly put off by the nasty side effects. The young couple decided they would endeavor to make a better sleep aid, natural with no side effects.
Through Adrienne's brother, a pharmacist, the Dorings were able to work with the right formulators who understood their mission. It was here that Berry Sleepy was born.
The couple saw the need for their product in the marketplace and wanted to help others achieve a good night's sleep without synthetic additives or side effects and improve the quality of their lives, like they had with Berry Sleepy.
In 2016, with the help of Tim Prier and James Lacey, the company moved its base of operations to Westlake Village, California.
From there James Lacey and his team at Healthy Ventures have expanded the Berry Sleepy product line to include a 60-count (SRP 24.99), a 24-count veg cap (SRP $9.99) and Berry Sleepy Sleep Shots in two great tasting flavors, Strawberry and Mixed Berry (SRP $3.99).
The Healthy Ventures team has expanded the line to include a natural way to wake up with Berry Awake Energy shots! Lacey's team saw the need for a natural alternative to the synthetic energy shots that wreak havoc on the body. Berry Awake currently comes in Strawberry and Mixed Berry with two new flavors, Orange-Mango and Strawberry-Banana, due out in the second half of 2018. All Berry Awake Energy shots are line priced at an SRP of $3.99.
Not only has Lacey's team expanded Berry Sleepy's product line and added a new category to their repertoire with Berry Awake Natural Energy Shots, they have also teamed up with the acclaimed Kathy Ireland. The Berry Sleepy team will be interviewed by Kathy Ireland on her show, Modern Living with Kathy Ireland, on innovative sleep solutions. They will be filming at Burbank Studio's on April 17, 2018.
