Michael Mills has been a competitive athlete since 1999. Paralyzed by a drunk driver at the age of 16, his grit and determination have carried him to the pinnacle of athletic accomplishment. He holds numerous world records and "first ever" accomplishments for an adaptive athlete in events such as wheelchair track and road racing, obstacle course racing, Spartan® Racing, and the GORUCK military type endurance competition. He is an inspiration to the adaptive athletes everywhere. The FitAID sponsored wheelchair is fabricated to Mills specifications by Xcalibar Sports Chairs, maker of Mills' other unique chairs also built for competition. Mills says, "The chair is lighter, stiffer and stronger than any other, so it can take the beating of a WOD. It has various attachments that allow the user to remain in the chair, while still performing any exercise scaled for the adaptive athlete. I'm confident that my new chair will be the first of many you'll see in gyms and on the circuit."
