"BIG+BIH April 2012" Superb Showcase of ASEAN Gift Design and Houseware Fair

BANGKOK, April 11, 2012 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce, jointly with the Thai Lifestyle Product Federation, comprising 7 Thai Lifestyle Product Associations, are preparing to organise the 33rd Bangkok International Gift Fair & Bangkok International Houseware Fair April 2012, or namely "BIG+BIH April 2012".  This Exhibition had in the past met with great success to an extent that it is now recognised as a leading Gift and Houseware Fair in the region.  The grand exhibition is to be held this year during 17th-22nd April 2012 at the Bangkok International and Trade Exhibition Centre, Bang Na, Bangkok Metropolis.

Mrs. Nuntawan Sakuntanaga, Director-General of Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), said that "BIG+BIH April 2012" is held under the concept of Heart of Design & Lifestyle Showcase of ASEAN as a showcase of power of creativity and identities of ASEAN member countries, particularly Thailand. This Exhibition is widely accepted in its own uniqueness of centre of various arts and cultures through fine and creative product designs of good quality, so that the industry has grown and generated incomes to the country at a continued increasing proportion, as reflected by successive record statistics each year. In April of 2011, there were 586 participating companies displaying 1,573 booths. And on the trade negotiation day, there were as many as 10,654 visitors, while 90,000 people showed up on the retail day for the general public.  This year it is expected that there will be more than 100,000 visitors, which include local and international business buyers from United States of America, Europe, Africa, Middle East, China, and Japan, for example.  We anticipate that this year's exhibition could generate a cash flow of more than Baht 1,000 million."

"It is believed that the organising of BIG+BIH April 2012 Exhibition will be an important gathering of manufacturers and distributors of gifts and household products, whereby it will act as a showcase that invites visitors to meet new trends.  It is also an opportunity to create new business cooperation networks for buyers, importers, and factory operators, as well as creating potential and creative innovations of Thai manufacturers in regard to outstanding product unique designs which are gaining much attention in the world market, especially in the major markets like United States of America, Japan, and Germany," said the Director-General.

Besides, BIG+BIH April 2012 Exhibition also offers a design hall for new designers and international pavilion around the world. Other highlights include Design Forum, OTOP Exhibition, Demark Thai Product Design Project Exhibition.
