More than 150 companies were nominated for the 2017 edition of the Fast 50. To be considered, nominees had to have generated revenue of at least $500,000 in 2013 and $1 million in 2016. The Boston Business Journal's research department, together with CPA firm Withun, analyzed the relevant financial numbers to determine which companies made the final cut. Revenue growth trends over the prior 3 years is an important variable in the Fast 50 formula; for its part, BioPoint has seen exceptional gains during that span.
