Significant Margin and Capital Efficiency Improvements

With the launch of Bitnomial Clearinghouse, traders benefit from substantially lower margin requirements and improved capital efficiency. At launch, maintenance margin requirements for Bitcoin (BUS) and Bitcoin Deci (BUI) futures have been reduced from 27% to 15%, and Hashrate US Dollar Petahash (HUP) futures have decreased from 45% to 15%. These reductions free up capital for market participants while maintaining robust risk management standards.

Additionally, inter-commodity spread credits have been significantly enhanced. For example, the spread credit between Bitcoin (BUS) futures and Bitcoin Deci (BUI) futures has increased from 70% to 98%, meaning traders can hold offsetting positions with dramatically lower margin requirements. These improvements increase market efficiency and enhance the accessibility of physically delivered derivatives for market participants.
