The Impact Awards Recognize Purpose-Driven Customers Using Blackbaud Software to Fuel Impact

Blackbaud customers from across the globe were invited to submit nominations in any of the seven award categories. Finalists included organizations and individuals from across the social impact community, from nonprofits to schools and universities, healthcare institutions and purpose-driven companies.

The 2025 Blackbaud Impact Award winners are:

• The Changemaker Award: This award recognizes organizations that have embraced new tech capabilities to overcome challenges and deliver transformative results.
  • Bauer Radio's Cash for Kids, the official charity of Bauer Media dedicated to improving the lives of disadvantaged children and young people across the UK, is recognized for their use of Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge NXT and the Importacular integration from Blackbaud partner Zeidman Development to transform how they connect internal teams, visualize and access data, and build donor relationships to provide support for over 500,000 disadvantaged children in the UK.
  • Save the Children, a global humanitarian organization working in over 100 countries to ensure children grow up healthy, educated and protected, is recognized for their use of Blackbaud CRM™, Blackbaud Luminate Online®, Blackbaud Integrated Payments, Blackbaud Professional Services, and Blackbaud partners to modernize their legacy child sponsorship program into a new recurring giving program, creating stronger connections with donors and cultivating support for children's health, education and protection in the U.S. and around the world.

Finalists include IWK Foundation, The Planning Council and Wesco International.

• The Silo Buster Award: This award recognizes organizations using Blackbaud technology to create fully connected teams that are more aligned than ever.
  • Alvernia University, a private Franciscan university in Reading, Pennsylvania, is recognized for their use of Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT®, Microsoft Power BI, and partner RedArc to unify data across departments, exceed a $70 million capital campaign goal, and foster a culture of shared responsibility.
  • Dexter Southfield, an independent, co-educational day school in Brookline, Massachusetts, is recognized for their use of Blackbaud's education management solutions and Microsoft Power Automate to establish new norms for sharing information across departments, eliminating disconnected communications to students and families, and ultimately creating a better experience for all stakeholders.

CDW Corporation is also a finalist.

• The Data Strategist Award: This award recognizes data-fluent organizations who have demonstrated how data-informed decisions have given them a greater edge, or improved their analytics, reporting and communications.
  • Capgemini Americas, a global consulting and technology services firm, is recognized for their use of Blackbaud's YourCause® CSRconnect® to drive data-informed decision making across their CSR initiatives, boosting regional adoption of CSRconnect from 24% to 54% of headcount, growing global usage company-wide, and informing more strategic nonprofit partnerships.
  • Deakin University, a public research university in Victoria, Australia, is recognized for their use of Blackbaud CRM™ to develop a score determining a constituent's affinity to the university at both a specific time and over time, thereby enabling more targeted strategic donor outreach, identifying new opportunities to re-engage high profile alumni, and defining new ambitious alumni engagement targets.

Finalists include Center for Grieving Children and Zonta Foundation for Women.

• The Fueling Greatness Award: This award celebrates organizations that have leveraged Blackbaud technology to reach and surpass ambitious goals to truly amplify their impact.
  • University of Indianapolis, a private university in Indiana, is recognized for their use of Blackbaud Fundraiser Performance Management™ and Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT to transform their fundraising model, achieving back-to-back $10M+ years for the first time in university history and fostering a sustainable culture of philanthropy and expanding support for students, faculty, and programs.

Finalists include Royal Neighbors of America, WSU Tech Foundation and Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge.

• The Futurist Award: This award recognizes organizations that can share their story of technological exploration and creativity within Blackbaud's flexible ecosystem.
  • British Columbia Children's Hospital Foundation, a nonprofit supporting pediatric healthcare in British Columbia and the Yukon, is recognized for their development of a custom integration between Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT and Microsoft Teams, with the help of SKY API®, to allow key fundraising data to be surfaced and acted upon right within Teams, significantly enhancing efficiency and donor engagement to benefit their mission.
  • Georgia Tech Foundation, which supports the Georgia Institute of Technology by managing philanthropic gifts and endowments to advance academic excellence, is recognized for their use of Blackbaud CRM™, Blackbaud Internet Solutions, Microsoft Power BI, and Blackbaud partner Zuri Group to develop a dynamic self-service donor portal that enables alumni profile updates and provides all donors with real-time access to key information such as giving history, endowment balances, designation details and athletic point totals.

Finalists include Citymeals on Wheels and University School.

• The Outstanding Leadership Award: This award honors executive-level leaders who empower their teams and drive organizational success.
  • Vanessa Longacre-Wilcox, Executive Director, Project Management and Planning at Fred Hutch Cancer Center, is recognized for her instrumental role in elevating the Center's donor experience, modernizing their digital fundraising infrastructure, and being a champion for a culture of respect, innovation and accessibility.

Finalists include Heather Geronemus, Senior Director, Social Impact, UKG; Dawn Ingram, Director of Fundraising, Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity; Philip Thornton, Vice President of Advancement, University of Indianapolis; Suzanne Whitbeck, Executive Director, El Sol, Jupiter's Resource Center; and Nathan Smith, Vice President, Philanthropy, RAIN, Inc.

• The Rising Star Award: This award recognizes ambitious individuals at manager-level or below (non-executive or director level) who demonstrate exceptional potential in their field.
  • Liam Castellan, Development Operations and Database Manager, Shakespeare & Company, is recognized for taking a proactive approach to continuous improvement, introducing new innovative ideas to notably improve fundraising outcomes, and maximizing the use of Blackbaud software across the organization.

Finalists include Rianti Bieler, Database Coordinator, Mary's House Services; Eleonore Heinrichs, Database and Reporting Team Lead, University of Manitoba; Anna Gomez, Senior Specialist, External Communications & CSR, Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits; and Ana Sapp, Donor Database Manager, Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region.
