Blackbaud CEO Mike Gianoni Invests in NGS, Joins as Strategic Advisor

Charleston technology executive backs geospatial engineering firm as it expands into software products and AI advisory

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C., Sept. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Mike Gianoni, President and CEO of Blackbaud and Chairman of the Board at Teradata, has made a strategic investment in Newmoyer Geospatial Solutions LLC (NGS) and joined the company as a Strategic Advisor.

Gianoni has spent four decades leading technology companies across software, cloud and financial services. For more than a decade he has led Blackbaud, the Charleston-based cloud software company serving nonprofits, schools, foundations and healthcare organizations around the world. He is widely recognized for building strong teams and durable company cultures, and for growing software businesses well beyond where they started.

NGS has spent 17 years building secure, interoperable geospatial systems for government, defense and commercial customers. In recent years that work has expanded into software the company owns and operates. CoreSpatial, the NGS open-source geospatial platform, now runs inside customer and partner systems, and the NGS AI advisory practice is helping commercial companies put AI to work in their operations.

Gianoni's investment and involvement come at the start of that next phase. He will work with the NGS leadership team on strategy, growth and the path from engineering services company to software company at scale.
