BlackLine Systems CEO & Founder to Speak at NYU Stern School of Business

LOS ANGELES, April 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Financial software provider BlackLine Systems CEO and Founder Therese Tucker has been invited to speak this week to accounting and business students at New York University's (NYU) Stern School of Business.  The session, sponsored by the Stern Accounting Society, Stern Women in Business and Stern Professional Development Society, is designed to offer guidance to students who will be graduating soon from a combined BS/MS program at NYU.

Drawing on her experience building BlackLine Systems from the ground up into the leading company in its space, Tucker will discuss how she got to where she is today, obstacles involved in starting a company and how she managed to continue to grow her company during a down economy into one of the fastest-growing software companies ever.

BlackLine Sr. Partner Implementations Consultant Jenny Pottle, formerly of KPMG LLP, also will be on-site at NYU to talk about career opportunities for accounting majors with the 'Big 4'.  Plus, they'll both talk about how leveraging technology (such as the BlackLine Financial Close Suite) to automate processes can help new CPAs to be successful in their careers – whether working in-house in corporate accounting or with one of the 'Big 4' firms.
