BlackStratus Appoints Charles Johnson Director Of New Security Operations Center

STAMFORD, Conn., Sept. 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- BlackStratus, a leading provider of security and compliance technology tailored for both SMBs and large enterprises, announced today that it has selected Charles Johnson as the Director of its new Security Operations Center (SOC) located in Stamford, Conn. Johnson's appointment comes on the heels of the recent grand opening of BlackStratus' new Stamford office, which is dedicated to its CYBERShark service; a new cloud-based Security-as-a-Service tailored to fill the huge security and compliance void in the SMB market. Reporting to BlackStratus' Chief Security Officer, Mike Maxwell, Johnson is responsible for the entire operation, including hiring support staff to strategic planning meetings with clients, of the new SOC.

As the SOC Director, Johnson oversees the development of the SOC, from sourcing the talent and developing them to building out the process and procedures necessary to deliver a professional, streamlined service which monitors BlackStratus' partner networks to identify incidents and provide valuable, pragmatic security remediation information. Before arriving at BlackStratus, Johnson spent 20 years at Schenker, Inc., where his career started as a network engineer and would eventually culminate in a senior management position in a dual role as the Director of Infrastructure Systems & Service Delivery and Regional Information Security Officer. Prior to his multiple roles at Schenker, Johnson served several years in the U.S. Marine Corps' S2 (Intelligence) Group.
