Rugani's announcement comes on the heels of the company's recently launched CYBERShark service, a cloud-based Security-as-a-Service tailored to fill the huge security and compliance void in the SMB market. Reporting to BlackStratus' CEO Dale Cline, Mr. Rugani is responsible for the global sales of the company.
Rugani is an experienced technology industry executive with an extensive background in sales, marketing and overall field operations. With over 30 years of relevant experience Mr. Rugani has held senior leadership positions at some of the most recognizable enterprise software providers in the world where he had a successful track record of growing revenue, expanding market penetration, managing global channel programs, and creating profitable high growth organizations.

Most recently Phil was Vice President of Sales at Halogen Software, a leader in SaaS solutions for the Human Capital Management market. He was also Vice President for the Americas at IBM following IBM's acquisition of FileNet, a content and process management solution provider. At FileNet, Mr. Rugani was Senior Vice President, Americas and Worldwide Channel Operations where he expanded the company's enterprise sales operation and helped manage the transition to IBM. Prior to IBM/FileNet, he held senior executive positions at some of the most recognizable enterprise software providers in the world, including Oracle, Informix and Alta Vista. At Oracle he was the Group Vice President for the General Business and Alliance Organizations, a group that managed the partner community and targeted the mid-market with a multi-pronged go-to-market model.
Rugani earned his bachelor's degree in mathematics from Wagner College and performed masters work at New York University's Courant Institute of Mathematics.
