Blanket America Partners with VFW to Donate 13,000 Blankets in Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA CITY, Dec. 21, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- On December 22nd Blanket America with the help of Chandler VFW Post 1719 Commander Ron Gimondo, Liz Hellams Auxiliary President will embark on Blanketing Oklahoma. For 10 days our team will be canvassing the state reaching rural and urban locations. Our goal is to distribute 13,000 blankets to the impoverished and often overlooked cases of extreme need throughout the state. By personally handing the blankets out, we not only provide for the needy, but also give them a warm hug during the Holiday season. Poverty in America is often ignored. Blanket America is determined to let their voices be heard and causes shown.

Our goal is to distribute 1 million blankets through out all 50 states. The involvement of VFW will allow us to reach out to rural areas where major aid organizations do not operate and where poverty is often hidden or unknown to the general population. Our travels will take us from East to West and North to South and will conclude when the truck is empty and thousands across the state know that someone cares. We hope more companies will be "right" behind us.
