Blue River Partners Expands Business Development Team

DALLAS, Feb. 8, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Blue River Partners, LLC is pleased to announce the expansion of its internal business development team.  We welcome Shawn Hessing (bio below) as a Managing Director based in Dallas, and Bryan McCooey (bio below) as a Director based in New York City.

Professional Biography
Shawn Hessing, Managing Director
Prior to joining Blue River Partners, Shawn G. Hessing served as the Chief Financial Officer of Oak Hill Capital Partners for more than five years before retiring in December 2015.  At Oak Hill, Mr. Hessing was responsible for implementing and transitioning new funds and management company accounting systems.  In addition, Mr. Hessing led development of Oak Hill's projection models, as well as transitioning the back office to more efficient reporting models. Mr. Hessing also worked with various portfolio companies on vendor relationships, modeling, and implementation issues.

Prior to joining Oak Hill, Mr. Hessing spent over 32 years at KPMG, most recently as the National Managing Partner of Private Equity, splitting time in KPMG's New York, NY and Fort Worth, TX offices. Mr. Hessing retired from KPMG in June 2011.  Prior to his National Managing Partner role at KPMG, he held multiple roles including the Audit Partner-in-Charge US of Private Equity, Managing Partner in the firm's Fort Worth, TX office, and Lead Partner-Real Estate in the Southwest Region.  Mr. Hessing's duties at KPMG included advising clients on complex accounting and business issues as well as developing and enhancing key firm relationships.  At KPMG, he spoke at numerous conferences and events on business valuation, merger, and private equity topics as a nationally recognized expert.

Mr. Hessing earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Midwestern State University, where he currently serves on the Board of Regents and is past Chairman. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.

Bryan McCooey, Director
Prior to joining Blue River Partners, Bryan McCooey served as the Head of Business Development at Centaur Fund Services Limited.  While at Centaur he was responsible for opening the first office in the U.S. and driving new business within the U.S. marketplace, contributing to growing the firm's assets under administration by $10 billion.

Prior to joining Centaur, Mr. McCooey held Sales Director roles at Admiral Administration and Kaufman Rossin Fund Services, both based in New York City.  Mr. McCooey began his career in Institutional Sales at Olympia Capital Markets Group where he supported the build out of the institutional sales desk.  At Olympia, Mr. McCooey was responsible for reporting on overnight global market activity to clients and traders, and assisting sales traders with the opening of accounts and clearing the orders through the routing system.

Mr. McCooey was educated at Hobart College in New York and served on the Board Committee of the For the Love of George fundraising event benefitting the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
