The June 2010 Edition incorporates the changes set forth in the "Trademark Technical and Conforming Act of 2010." This Act conforms the law with respect to the filing of affidavits of use with respect to both federal registrations and extensions of protection under the Madrid Protocol.
The new edition also includes legislation extending the provisions of the "Satellite Home Viewer Act" and making appropriations for the United States Patent and Trademark Office for fiscal year 2010, as well as amendments to the patent statute relating to biosimilar biological products set forth in the recently enacted health care legislation.
The June 2010 Edition is accompanied by an updated CD-ROM containing the entire text of the book in HTML for easy searching and copying-and-pasting. The CD-ROM also contains additional materials not in the print edition, provided by Adobe® Portable Document Format (PDF) and HTML.
The CD-ROM includes the text of the latest version of patent reform legislation, including the "Manager's Amendment" to S.515. Recently added to the CD-ROM are the Rules of Practice of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Those who practice before the court obviously need to be well-acquainted with these complex rules. The rules cover such issues as how to file an appeal, stays or injunctions pending appeal, motion practice, the preparation and filing of briefs, oral argument, citation practice, en banc determinations, and petitions for rehearing.
