Bob Moore, iGPS CEO, Named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year

ORLANDO, Fla., June 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Bob Moore, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Intelligent Global Pooling Systems (iGPS Company, LLC), was named by Ernst & Young as Florida's Entrepreneur of the Year in the Emerging industries category.  

A veteran of the pallet industry, Moore founded iGPS in 2006 in Orlando with a goal to create the world's first pallet rental service providing shippers and receivers with all-plastic pallets with embedded RFID tags.  Moore's innovation has revolutionized the pallet rental industry.  For over six decades, pallets had been made of wood.  Recognizing firsthand the inherent dangers and shortcomings of wood—particularly its excessive weight, risks of cross contamination of food, medicines and other products, injuries to workers and damage to products through protruding nails and splinters—Moore seized the opportunity to create a new paradigm in pallet rental, a plastic pallet that is 100 percent recyclable and is lighter, stronger, safer and greener than pallets made of wood.  In just four years, iGPS has transformed the supply chain and now counts among its customers many of the world's most respected and environmentally responsible companies.

Moore was presented with the Ernst & Young Florida Entrepreneur of the Year award at a black-tie gala ceremony at the Omni Orlando Resort at Champions Gate on June 10, 2010.  As Entrepreneur of the Year, Moore will now compete in the Ernst & Young national competition in November in Palm Springs, California.
