Bold Penguin Launches DeX ai, the Intelligence Running Its Digital Exchange

The infrastructure behind Bold Penguin's own solutions is now open to carriers and brokers through APIs, an MCP server, and agent-to-agent connections.

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Sept. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Bold Penguin recently launched DeX ai, the intelligence running its Digital Exchange, and made it callable by the carriers, brokers and platform partners who build on the same infrastructure Bold Penguin's own solutions run on. The launch is paired with a new brand identity and a redesigned boldpenguin.com. 

Bold Penguin built the Digital Exchange to carry a submission further than an introduction. Brokers bring risk in, carriers bring appetite and capacity, and a submission moves across both admitted and non-admitted markets until it binds. In the last 12 months, $12.45 billion in premium moved across the exchange on more than 735,000 middle market and complex submissions. DeX ai is the intelligence that runs that placement. It reads the risk in detail and matches it to the carriers that will write it. On less complex risks the submission can run straight through to bind, reserving underwriters for the accounts that require their attention and expertise.

The work that happens between submission and bind

The Digital Exchange delivers Submission Ingestion, Market Intelligence, Market Access and Coverage Intelligence, with DeX ai running underneath each one. DeX ai reads every submission before an underwriter opens it, flagging what to trust and where to look. Intelligent models refer the risk to carriers based on market conduct, ranked on what those carriers quote rather than on what their guidelines say. Producers reach the markets they need to place the risk. And DeX ai compares policy language clause by clause, analyzes the tower, and generates the broker proposal.

Carriers, brokers and platform partners build on the same infrastructure, including eight of the 10 largest US commercial carriers. Documented submission, quote and bind endpoints let their systems call DeX ai directly. An MCP server lets a partner's own agent use DeX ai as a tool. Agent-to-agent lets a partner's AI agent place risk while Bold Penguin's receives it, with a person stepping in only where the partner decides one should.

Every recommendation carries a reasoning log, and every decline leaves a documented path that can be handed to an examiner.
