"Many NBA teams are using Bona products so it just makes sense to bring these same safe, durable surfaces to gyms across the country," said Chad Nordhagen, Director of Marketing, Bona US. "We are thrilled to be part of NBA D-League Cares and to be able to use Bona products to create better, safer playing surfaces for Boys & Girls Clubs in Portland."
For the recent refinishing project in Portland, home of the Red Claws, Bona refinished the gym floor for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maine with Bona's waterborne Sportive Finish and Sportive Paint. This line of hardwood floor finish and paint is GREENGUARD Children & Schools Certified, one of the most stringent, third-party validations for low chemical emissions to improve the quality of the air in which the products are used.
"The Maine Red Claws were thrilled when NBA D-League Cares approached us with this wonderful opportunity from Bona," said Maine Red Claws Vice President of Public and Community Relations Jana Spaulding. "The Red Claws have a long partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maine, and we can't wait to see the kids out on the new court and getting our players out there with them."
Bob Clark, CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs said, "Our partnership with the Maine Red Claws continues to be a major asset for our Club members, particularly as we strive to enhance our priority outcome of healthy lifestyles. The refinishing of this gym floor supports a wide range of athletic activities and programs for our thousands of Club members."
