HOUSTON, Oct. 3, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Boomtown is pleased to announce the signing of a joint development agreement with the Glass family on the Caiman Ranch in southern La Salle County.
At over 9,000 acres, this historic ranch is located in the heart of the Hawkville Field, which was identified as a prospective gas play by Petrohawk Energy Corporation early in the discovery and development of the Eagle Ford Shale. Boomtown plans to employ the latest drilling and completions methods and techniques to enhance well productivity in the area where the Eagle Ford play was originally discovered.
"We are extremely pleased to begin this project with the Glass family. The Caiman Ranch has exceptional rock properties and gas-in-place which make it very attractive for our planned long-lateral development and we look forward to bringing this structure and our operational expertise to other companies and mineral owners in the southwest Eagle Ford Maverick Basin to expand our position in the area," said Michael Rozenfeld, Partner at Boomtown Oil LLC.
"After extensive negotiations with numerous parties, we have found a partner who shares our same values and has the expertise towards making this project successful," said Duel Glass, Managing Partner of Glass Minerals.
"Caiman Exploration is pleased to have found the perfect development partner in Boomtown and is very excited about this opportunity," said Sharah Johnson of Caiman Exploration.
Initial operation plans include shooting of seismic in preparation for future planned development using extended-reach lateral horizontal wells.
