Booz Allen Names Roger W. Cressey as Senior Vice President

MCLEAN, Va., Feb. 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Roger W. Cressey, a counter-terrorism and cyber security expert and former member of the U.S. National Security Council staff, has been named Senior Vice President, supporting Booz Allen's cyber security business, the company announced.

Cressey was most recently president and founder of Good Harbor Consulting, a strategic safety, security and risk management consultancy.  At Booz Allen, he will focus on supporting international government clients on a broad range of cyber security issues, and also will oversee the firm's practice in the area of "Smart Power," a whole-of-government approach for advancing national security goals that requires collaboration among multiple agencies with overlapping mission responsibilities.

Cressey was director for Transitional Threats on the National Security Council staff from 1999 to 2001, overseeing coordination and implementation of U.S. counterterrorism policy.  He later served as Chief of Staff to the President's Critical Infrastructure Protection board before founding Good Harbor Consulting in 2002.  He also served in various positions with the Department of Defense and Department of State earlier in his career.

Cressey holds a B.A. degree in political science from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, and an M.A. degree in security policy studies from Georgetown University.
