Conformément à cette feuille de route, l'entreprise va se développer vers l'ouest à partir de la Chine avant d'entrer sur le marché européen. Les accords connexes ont été signés à la mairie de Brême. La ville de Brême a joué un rôle majeur dans l'histoire du constructeur automobile, car le fondateur de celui-ci, Carl F.W. Borgward, y a fabriqué plus d'un million de véhicules jusqu'en 1961.

Pendant la cérémonie festive, Ulrich Walker, PDG de Borgward Group AG, a déclaré : « Comme nous l'avons annoncé, nous allons stimuler la croissance et ouvrir de nouveaux marchés. Parmi eux, il y a les pays du Moyen-Orient qui, selon nos études, vont se développer favorablement dans les années à venir. Le grand intérêt que les clients arabes portent aux SUV et aux véhicules tout-terrain a été l'une des raisons principales pour lesquelles Borgward a décidé de lancer les ventes dans les pays de la région. « Notre gamme de produits actuelle, qui comporte les modèles de véhicules tout-terrain Borgward BX5 et Borgward BX7, et l'expansion continue de notre gamme de modèles SUV promettent un lancement réussi sur le marché et un développement commercial durablement positif dans cette région », déclare Tom Anliker, vice-président du marketing et des ventes chez Borgward Group AG.

Les modèles Borgward BX5 et BX7 ont été conçus par une équipe de développement internationale pour être des véhicules d'ampleur mondiale, ce qui les rend idéaux pour toutes les conditions climatiques et d'utilisation dans le monde entier. Les ingénieurs ont adapté tous les systèmes de contrôle climatique pour les moteurs et les intérieurs des véhicules afin qu'ils soient adaptés aux pays de la région, qui présentent généralement des climats désertiques chauds et, dans certains cas, des routes non pavées dans les zones rurales. La protection du soubassement de carrosserie et le châssis ont été modifiés pour optimiser les capacités des véhicules sur les routes en mauvais état.
