
BOSTON, Nov. 1, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Sleep HealthCenters has recently entered into a partnership with the Boston University Medical Group to develop and manage the Boston University Medical Group Sleep Center at 930 Commonwealth Ave in Brookline. Beginning this month, Sleep HealthCenters will perform diagnostic sleep studies and open a clinic offering sleep therapy services.

According to the National Sleep Foundation's website, the number of scientific studies showing correlations between poor and insufficient sleep and other diseases is increasing. Cardiovascular disease, diabetes and stroke have all been linked to a lack of sleep or poor sleep.

These integrated services include physician consults, patient monitoring, patient education and follow-up care for Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) patients including Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) devices. These services will be offered to the Boston University Medical Group physician network through the new partnership. Sleep HealthCenters created SleepandYou.com, a sleep education website that provides information on how sleep and sleep disorders can affect daily living, as well as how to get treatment and care for sleep issues.
The Boston University Medical Group Sleep Center in collaboration with Sleep HealthCenters will work with the Sleep Disorders Center at Boston Medical Center headed by Dr. Sanford Auerbach to serve patients from BMC and the Boston University physician network.
