Boston's Premier Music and Comedy Venue, The Wilbur, Selects Image Unlimited Communications as New Public Relations Partner

BOSTON, Feb. 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Wilbur, Boston, Massachusetts's premier music and comedy venue located in the historic Theatre District, has selected Image Unlimited Communications, Boston's leading public relations and integrated marketing communications agency, as its new public relations partner. Image Unlimited will work with The Wilbur in creating a campaign around the theatre's 100-year anniversary celebration.

The Wilbur was built in 1914 by the Shubert Brothers who named it for their friend and theatre manager A.L. Wilbur. It was designed by architect Clarence Blackhall and is renowned for its architectural individuality, grace and refinement. Over its 100-year history, The Wilbur has hosted many pre-Broadway world premiers, among them "Our Town," "A Streetcar Named Desire," "The Miracle Worker," and "Long Day's Journey Into Night." International stars who have appeared on the stage include Marlon Brando, Ann Brancroft, Kirk Douglas, Patricia Neal, Charleton Heston, Montgomery Clift, Henry Fonda, Carol Channing and Jason Robards. 

Being generally closed over the last few decades, The Wilbur was bought and revitalized in 2007 by Blumenreich, the former owner of the popular comedy club chain, The Comedy Connection in Massachusetts. Since re-opening the theater to the public six years ago, Blumenreich has created over 100 new jobs and reintroduced The Wilbur as a first-class venue, offering a more intimate experience for watching internationally acclaimed musicians and comedians.
