Brand Film Festival announces 2018 season, partnership with NAB Show

NEW YORK, Sept. 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Brand Film Festival has announced its 2018 season, marking its third year celebrating the most artistic, creative, and effective branded content films.

For the first time, the Brand Film Festival, in association with Haymarket Media's PRWeek and Campaign, will partner with NAB Show.

The partnership will kick off with a panel at NAB Show New York on October 18. Led by PRWeek VP, editorial director Steve Barrett, "Reinventing the Ad: Succeeding in Brand Storytelling" will explore what it takes to excite audiences. Joining Barrett will be Jae Goodman, chief creative officer and co-head, CAA Marketing; Andy Goldberg, chief creative officer, GE; and Jules Daly, president of RSA Films.

Goodman has also been named 2018 Brand Film Festival Jury Chair, heading a panel of top creatives from the worlds of PR, advertising, media, digital, film, and production.

"As marketers, where once a TV commercial was the only real media for a 'brand film,' today we are purpose-building films for YouTube, Facebook, film festivals, and actual television shows, versus the interruptions within them."

In addition to leading CAA's international expansion and recent global initiatives for Budweiser, Coca-Cola, and Canada Goose, Goodman was elected to the board of the Effies in 2016 and served as inaugural president of the Cannes Lions Entertainment Jury in 2017.

NAB Show New York attracts more than 7,000 attendees and 300 exhibitors and showcases next-generation tech for media and entertainment professionals.

In addition to the panel and a VIP launch party in the evening, October 18 marks the launch of the new Brand Film Festival website, where the 2018 jury selection, film nominations, and timelines will be announced.

The festival will also be featured at NAB Show in Las Vegas in April 2018, the world's largest annual convention covering filmed entertainment and the development, management, and delivery of content across all media.
