Brandstetter to join Leech Tishman

PITTSBURGH, Aug. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Pennsylvania Senior Deputy Attorney General Laurel Brandstetter will join Leech Tishman beginning Sept. 2, helping the law firm to launch a new practice area that includes risk, compliance and investigations.

Brandstetter brings 14 years of experience in criminal prosecutions to Leech Tishman, trying to verdict more than 100 cases.

Fuscaldo said the firm's new practice will provide a comprehensive approach for preventing and mitigating the impact from violations of ethical, regulatory and governance standards as well as white collar crimes, such as fraud, bribery, Ponzi schemes, insider trading, embezzlement, cybercrime, copyright infringement, money laundering, identity theft and forgery.

Since joining the attorney general's office in 2008, Brandstetter has spearheaded grand jury investigations of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission and other prominent public corruption cases. 

Brandstetter is a former assistant district attorney for Allegheny County, Pa. Working in the Violent Crimes and Firearms Section, she prosecuted homicides, assaults, robbery, drug trafficking and other offenses.

A graduate of the University of California's Hastings College of the Law, Brandstetter joins a team at Leech Tishman that includes Steven M. Toprani, former district attorney for Washington County, Pa.
