Brett M. Decker joins White House Writers Group

He comes to the firm after working as founding Editor-in-Chief for the digital publication Rare, which he built from inception to 1.6 million pageviews per week by its third full month.

Mr. Decker has written and edited thousands of articles and made countless broadcast appearances as editorial page editor of the Washington Times and a writer and editor for the Wall Street Journal. As senior vice president of communications for the Export-Import Bank, he managed the public affairs, external affairs, marketing and protocol divisions of a federal agency that does more than $20 billion in trade finance annually and is open for business in 150 countries. He also served as senior vice president of the Pentagon Federal Credit Union and speechwriter to House Majority Whip Tom DeLay. An adjunct professor of government at Johns Hopkins University and media fellow at Stanford's University's Hoover Institution, Mr. Decker is author of two books, most recently "Bowing to Beijing" in 2011. His first job in Washington was as a reporter, editor and television producer for the late, legendary columnist Robert D. Novak.
