BridgeBattle Box Set Debuts as Quick-play Card Game This Holiday Season
Easy-to-learn take on bridge requires no experience and plays in under a minute
HORN LAKE, Miss., Oct. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Contract Bridge League recently announced the commercial release of its BridgeBattle™ box set. Originally introduced as a web-based game in 2025, BridgeBattle combines concepts of two popular card games – the speed of war and the strategies of bridge. No prior knowledge of either game is necessary, making BridgeBattle an approachable, social opportunity for families, game enthusiasts and hobbyists to play cards.
Designed by Bronia Jenkins, executive director of the American Contract Bridge League, BridgeBattle excites players with its swift play and engaging components. Players can pick up the game nearly instantly, earning a pocket full of jewels and collecting winning tricks in under a minute.
The box set features a 52-card deck, evenly distributed between four players in opposing pairs. BridgeBattle has four game modes, from Classic to Extreme, each building upon the last with more strategy and challenge. Each person takes their turn playing a card of the lead suit, and the highest one wins the trick. The pair that wins at least seven of the 13 tricks earns a jewel.
Jenkins developed BridgeBattle in 2025 as a modern introduction to contract bridge. It quickly gained popularity online among seasoned bridge players and newcomers. Without knowing how to play bridge, BridgeBattle players naturally begin to understand the game's foundations, including trick-taking, partnerships, trumps and strategy.
"Though bridge is one of the best card games ever invented, BridgeBattle introduces an approachable way to teach strategy while keeping the game fun and fast," Jenkins said. "It takes the best parts of bridge, removes the complexity and turns every hand into a fast battle, delivering a thrilling experience for those searching for an engaging social game."
The BridgeBattle Box Game is available on Etsy for $25 including shipping. Everything players need is in the box with one custom-designed BridgeBattle card deck, colorful jewels in a velvet pouch, player bags, collectible stickers and an illustrated rules insert.
The online version of BridgeBattle remains available, offering a 24/7 option. With an automated robot partner, individuals can enter the virtual battlefield without recruiting three players.
For players interested in learning contract bridge, ACBL welcomes them to continue their bridge journey, including in-person classes at their local bridge club, a one-hour Trickstarter virtual introduction and Intro to Bridge online courses.
