SAUSALITO, Calif., March 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The publication of the April 2012 issue marks the 10th year of publishing the meeting professional trade periodical Smart Meetings. "We started out working from the back room of a house in Mill Valley, Calif., and driving across the West to sell ads. We're thrilled to still be around through the ups and downs of the publishing market and standing tall with our biggest issues ever coming along in our tenth year," says Marin Bright, publisher and CEO of Bright Business Media, LLC.
The magazine began coverage of international news and destinations in March, citing meeting professionals' growing demand for overseas events. "We noticed that many meeting planners in North America were no longer only planning events in North America, but also in Asia, Australia, Europe and the Middle East," Bright says. The current issue features Australia, Panama and Singapore, along with reports on Arizona, Las Vegas, North Carolina and wine country and mountain destination regional meetings.
