The European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction's latest survey paints a disturbing picture of increased drug abuse in the European Continent. Local youth are responding to this by using the Christmas holiday to launch a drug-prevention drive with a message for drug-free New Year resolutions.
BRUSSELS, Dec. 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Young volunteers from the Brussels branch of the Churches of Scientology for Europe celebrated the Lendemainde Noel (Day after Christmas Day) with a community drug-prevention drive to reach young people with factual information on commonly abused drugs inspiring drug-free New Year's resolutions.

They distributed nearly a thousand copies of The Truth About Drugs booklets, handing them out to passers-by in Matonge, Brussels' exotic African quarter.
Truth About Drugs volunteers have been canvassing the neighborhood with their drug education materials for the past six years, and local merchants, many of them long-term supporters of the campaign, lent their support by taking copies of the booklets and displaying them prominently in their stores.
Volunteers stopped to answer questions, point out useful information in the booklets, and refer people to the Foundation for a Drug-Free World website, which provides a wealth of information, videos and educational guides anyone may use.
Referring to the devastating impact of drugs on society, author, humanitarian and Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard wrote, "The planet has hit a barrier which prevents any widespread social progress—drugs and other biochemical substances.
