PITTSBURGH, June 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --  Bruster's Real Ice Cream has acquired a 50% share of Custom Concessions­, a manufacturer of mobile kitchen trucks and trailers. The merger went into effect on January 1, 2012, and the headquarters is now located in Pittsburgh.

According to industry experts, the mobile kitchens category has exploded due to several factors:  the recession, low cost of entry, flexibility to test menu concepts and brands able to expand their business beyond their bricks and mortar location.

Williams typically sells about 50 trailers a year, ranging from $10,000 for a simple hot dog trailer to $350,000 for customized full-scale kitchens on wheels.
