Budweiser will deliver on hockey tickets for life

TORONTO, April 24, 2012 /PRNewswire/ - Budweiser and Labatt Breweries of Canada said today that comments posted by the NHL will have no impact on the "Tickets for Life" Grand Prize for its popular Playoff Payoff contest.

Budweiser Playoff Payoff is definitely still on.  We clearly have a right to offer to fans the contest and the Tickets for Life.  We're thrilled about the overwhelming response to the promotion and we won't let our consumers down."

Labatt and Budweiser have made it clear with a legal disclaimer in ads, packaging and various other materials, that Playoff Payoff is about hockey generally and that Budweiser is not an official sponsor of the National Hockey League, and the "Playoff Payoff" contest isn't licensed or sponsored by, or otherwise associated with the NHL or its teams.

There is one Grand Prize available to be won, consisting of a pair of tickets to 20 regular season hockey games per year for life (to a maximum of 50 years) in a Canadian city of their choice starting at the beginning of the 2012-2013 season, or a Grand Prize cash equivalent of $250,000.  In addition, there are over 560,000 instant win and secondary prizes.  If the winner chooses tickets for life, Labatt said it will facilitate that decision, including giving the winning fan the money to obtain the tickets.
