BUILDINGS magazine recognized Harmonium xf Linoleum flooring, produced by Johnsonite, the commercial arm of Tarkett, as a 2013 Product Innovations Merit Award winner. BUILDINGS magazine serves commercial building owners and facilities management professionals in North America, helping readers make smarter decisions relevant to the management, modernization and operation of their facilities.
Product Innovations awards are presented yearly to exhibitors at NeoCon and recognize the innovative qualities offered by a product or service to support the efficiency and sustainability of commercial buildings, combining performance, aesthetics and function.
Harmonium xf Linoleum flooring is also certified to carry the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) BioPreferred program Biobased Product Label and has a Cradle to Cradle (C2C) Silver tier certification. The flooring is made from 95 percent natural materials, including linseed oil, flax seed, wood and limestone, with 73 percent of those materials rapidly renewable. In fact, Harmonium xf has the highest rapidly renewable content in the industry, which helps contribute to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) credits and offers one of the lowest lifecycle costs available.
Additionally, Tarkett has been named the 2013 Floor Covering Weekly GreenStep Pinnacle Award Honoree. GreenStep honorees are recognized for their meaningful environmental contributions to the flooring industry.
The goals of the GreenStep program include:
- Recognizing sustainable environmental initiatives throughout the flooring industry;
- Promoting and supporting those efforts by providing a communications platform to educate the industry as to the extent and scope of these efforts; and
- Honoring those people and organizations whose efforts embody the ideals of environmental stewardship.
