NEW YORK, Oct. 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Bungalow Media + Entertainment is proud to announce a new series, GIVE, premiering October 8th, 2016. Produced in association with Litton Entertainment, Intrepid, Inc., and unite4:good, GIVE will air as part of NBC's new three hour Saturday programming block, The More You Know, telling inspiring stories about the environment, social change, health and wellness, and community engagement.
GIVE will introduce viewers to the world of philanthropy through the stories of small charities making a big impact. The series features NBC News correspondent and founder of UNICEF's Next Generation Jenna Bush Hager, esteemed actor/producer/humanitarian Blair Underwood, and passionate celebrity philanthropists from the worlds of film, television, music, sports, and business. In each episode, an inspiring celebrity ambassador will visit two separate charities that use innovation, best practices, and dedication for change in their communities and the world. With the help of some of the country's top foundations, audiences will be introduced to inspiring individuals through the eyes of our celebrity ambassadors.
Ambassadors will be provided packages that will assist the charities in achieving their worthy objectives. The ambassadors will don disguises created by top professionals, or another way to go undercover to get to know the charities and figure out how to best allocate the packages between the two. Following their visit, our ambassadors will make a surprise return visit revealing their true identities and intentions, and based on what they saw, will make a major donation that will enable the charities to do exponentially more good in the world.
"GIVE is a unique opportunity to combine the best of fun, educational and informational entertainment with access to witnessing our favorite celebrities doing good deeds," said Robert Friedman, CEO of Bungalow Media + Entertainment.
"GIVE inspires and encourages people of all ages to reach out and positively affect the lives of others, as a lifestyle choice. Philanthropy has always been necessary. We now live in an age where philanthropy is "authentically" cool and though the millennial generation is leading the way, GIVE captures the urgency of now and the changing tide of our generation to impact the lives of us all," said Blair Underwood.
"GIVE is an inspiring original new series that highlights individuals and organizations doing work in their local communities. Unite4Good is proud to be in the forefront of introducing these phenomenal organizations to the general public. We look forward to inspiring the viewers of GIVE to become involved and make social good a part of their daily lives." added Anthony Melikhov.
GIVE was created by Gary Reeves. Executive Producers are Robert Friedman & Kate Kenny for Bungalow Media + Entertainment, Blair Underwood & Gary Reeves for Intrepid, Inc., Anthony Melikhov, Chad Warren & Maria Simone for Unite 4 Good and Dave Morgan & Pete Sniderman for Litton Entertainment.
