Burgeoning Accounting Firm Names Renowned CPA as Partner
Kushner, Smith, Joanou & Gregson Taps Don Dahl to Head Firm's Tax Department
IRVINE, Calif., Jan. 31, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The rapidly growing accounting firm of Kushner, Smith, Joanou & Gregson has named Don Dahl—a prominent figure within the CPA community—according to Larry Gregson, partner for Orange County-based KSJG.
"In the midst of our exponential growth we are delighted to welcome Don Dahl to the firm to head the tax department and become an integral part of the next phase of our accelerating expansion plan," Gregson said. "His experience and leadership in our industry will be incredibly valuable to us."
Dahl's philosophy of placing priority on nurturing client relationships, and promoting a team-building internal infrastructure, aligns perfectly with the strategic plan put in place recently by KSJG.
In his new post, Dahl will oversee all aspects of the tax department as well as focus on wealth planning services. Chief among those service areas will be to assist business owners of privately held businesses, high-net worth individuals, and family-owned enterprises, and top-level executives of large companies with their wealth accumulation, preservation, and succession issues, many of which include strategies for income and estate tax planning.
Dahl, who has practiced as a certified public accountant for more than 34 years, has served as a trusted advisor to many owners and key executives of closely held private companies. Primarily working in the Southern California region, he has consulted and advised clients with regard to family business succession, mergers, acquisitions, IPO's and sale liquidity matters. As a highly distinguished tax practitioner, Dahl has handled domestic, state and local, as well as international tax issues. Dahl was a partner at Arthur Andersen for many years and led Grant Thornton's Southern California Tax Practice for more than a decade.
Founded in 1979, Kushner, Smith, Joanou & Gregson, LLP, is a full-service accounting firm that offers audit, tax and consulting services to its clients—exclusive privately held companies based in Southern California, yet have operations in all 50 states. Most KSJG clients are in the fields of manufacturing, distribution, mortgage banking, aerospace, construction and the food service industry. The firm's client revenue ranges from $5 million to over one billion.
