Burlington Medical Supplies Implements Inventory Management System

NEWPORT NEWS, Va., June 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Burlington Medical Supplies (BMS) and its partner, ODIN, have announced the full implementation of the Burlington Apron Inventory Management System (BAIMS). The radio frequency identification (RFID) system was first launched six months ago and is available through BurmedID, a division of BMS.

The system allows healthcare providers to efficiently identify, organize and manage radiation protection garments such as x-ray aprons for multiple departments using cutting-edge technology.

"The BAIMS RFID inventory management system has been successfully implemented in many large teaching hospitals and healthcare systems throughout North America," said Steve Porter, president of BurmedID.

Healthcare providers participating in the launch include Johns Hopkins, Stanford, Massachusetts General, Ohio State, University of Maryland, Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) Healthcare and Bon Secours.
