TAUNTON, Mass., Jan. 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- For the third consecutive year, Eliot Tatelman, Jordan's President and CEO, distributed bonuses to his employees. The announcement, however, was not in a memo or during a meeting. Rather, dressed as a human piñata, Eliot announced the bonus to the company's J-Team as they, literally, took a hit at him with foam bats. Why the costume? "We don't do anything normally here at Jordan's!", says Eliot with a laugh. "The bonus was a surprise to everyone. We created a piñata theme, where employees could take a whack, literally, at myself and members of the Executive Team, as the bonus figure was announced." Each full-time employee will receive $3000. The announcement was simulcast, so that every employee at all locations could hear the news at the same time. The live event took place in Taunton, MA at the Jordan's Corporate Headquarters.

This is the third year in a row that employee bonuses were announced uniquely. Last year, Eliot and members of the company's Executive Team subjected themselves to dunk tanks, as the bonus figures were divulged. In 2015, thousands of balloons were released from the ceiling of the massive Taunton Distribution Center, where just one balloon contained the bonus amount inside. After a year that included historical sales and a new store opening in CT, Eliot wanted to award his team. "I get all of the attention but they do all the work.
