NEW YORK, Dec. 10, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Dewey & LeBoeuf today announced that Business Insurance magazine has named Cynthia Shoss, co-chair-elect of the firm's Insurance Regulatory Department, as one of its 2010 "Women to Watch."
Business Insurance's annual "Women to Watch" feature highlights an elite group of 25 women who are doing outstanding work in commercial insurance, reinsurance, risk management, employee benefits and related fields. A panel of the magazine's senior editors selected this year's honorees based on their recent professional achievements, influence on the marketplace and contributions to the advancement of women in business.
Ms. Shoss was one of only three women honored from the legal industry. This also marks the second consecutive year a Dewey & LeBoeuf lawyer has been recognized by Business Insurance. "Our firm has one of the preeminent insurance practices among all law firms. This reputation has been earned over decades by several generations of lawyers who have played key roles in the industry's most significant matters," said Steven H. Davis, Chairman of Dewey & LeBoeuf. "Cynthia has been a cornerstone of the firm's service to the insurance industry for over 20 years. I'd like to congratulate her on this honor and commend her for her dedication to excellence, as well as her commitment to advancing women in the workplace."

Ms. Shoss has worked on some of the insurance industry's most transformative transactions and is recognized as a leader in the area of demutualizations and other conversions. She has drafted legislation and regulations and she has advised Insurance Commissioners and Attorneys General on policy matters.
