Business Insurance Names Editor, Advertising Sales Director and Audience Marketing Director
CHICAGO, Jan. 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Gavin Souter has been named editor, Susan Stilwill is the new advertising sales director and Michelle O'Malley takes over as audience marketing director at Chicago-based Business Insurance. The brand consists of a weekly newsmagazine and online news operation that reports on corporate risk, employee benefit and managed health care news for commercial insurance industry and financial executives. The staffing announcement was made today by Mark Stach, publisher and general manager, Business Insurance.

Twenty-year Business Insurance veteran Gavin Souter, 47, is the new editor. Souter was previously managing editor. He joined the title in its London office in 1991 and has also worked from the company's New York office. Before joining Crain, he worked for three different magazines based in London: Reinsurance, Post and The Stock Broker & City Investor. He is a graduate of Nottingham University in Nottingham, England. Souter resides in Oak Park, Ill.
Advertising Sales Director Susan Stilwill, 42, joins Business Insurance from New Compass Media, a consulting firm she founded in 2009. Prior to that, she was group publisher for Occupational Health & Safety magazine from 1998 to 2009. She has also served as publisher and editorial director of Fancy Food & Culinary Products magazine. Stilwill holds two bachelors degrees from Iowa State University and lives in Chicago.
Michelle O'Malley, 29, is the new audience marketing director at Business Insurance. She was previously manager of direct response acquisition and retention marketing for the Chicago Tribune Media Group. Her experience includes additional marketing roles for GE Money, HSBC Corporation and Aon Corporation in Illinois. She holds an MBA from the Dominican University-Brennan School of Business and a bachelor's degree from Purdue University. O'Malley lives in Chicago.
