BYUtv Wins 2 Children's and Family Emmy® Awards from 11 Nominations

Nominated series include "Malory Towers," "All-Round Champion," "A Kind of Spark" & "Ruby and the Well"

PROVO, Utah, March 20, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- BYUtv, the home of inspiring family entertainment – streaming free and available on cable and satellite – received two wins at the 2025 Children's and Family Emmy^® Awards: Amanda Lawrence from "Malory Towers" for Outstanding Supporting Performer in a Preschool, Children's or Young Teen Program and "All-Round Champion" for Editing for a Multiple-Camera Live-Action Program. With the awards only in their third year, BYUtv's representation has been growing annually with two nominations (and a win) in year one, seven nominations in year two and now 11 nominations in year three. The free streaming service is in a field almost completely comprised of industry leaders like Disney, Nickelodeon, Max, Netflix and Apple TV+.

In the first year of the awards in 2022, BYUtv was nominated in two craft categories for two shows, ultimately winning Best Makeup and Hairstyling for "The Canterville Ghost." The following year it received seven nominations for three shows, including recognition for Best Children's or Family Viewing Series ("Malory Towers") and Non-Fiction Program ("All-Round Champion").

This year BYUtv was nominated for 11 awards for four shows, including "Malory Towers," "All-Round Champion," "A Kind of Spark" and "Ruby and the Well," with the series nominations above coming through for the second year in a row. 

Ella Bright for "Malory Towers" (also nominated for the second year in a row) and Lola Blue for "A Kind of Spark" (who is a neurodivergent actor in a neurodivergent role) were the only young performers nominated in the Lead Performer category, along with Justin Long, Raven-Symoné and winner Christian Slater. Amanda Lawrence won the supporting performer category for "Malory Towers," having been nominated with Elizabeth Mitchell, Eric Stonestreet, Sarah Rafferty, Adam Copeland and the late Lance Reddick.

Lawrence and Bright charmed as they presented five awards together in the Creative Arts Ceremony. BYUtv's nominations in craft categories this year include directing, editing, lighting (two nods), art direction and costumes. Previous years also included casting (two nods) and music direction, along with the makeup/hairstyling win. This year's multi-cam live action editing win for "All-Round Champion" came in a category with fellow nominees "Sesame Street," "The Thundermans Return" and "Erin and Aaron."

Of note, BYUtv has also received nominations for its shows in the Daytime Emmy^® Awards over the years, including two in 2024 for "The Wizard of Paws" for Derrick Campana in the Daytime Personality – Non-Daily category and for Multiple Camera Editing.
