C Spire begins pre-orders for ultra-fast fiber internet in Jasper and Trussville, Alabama

JASPER, Ala. and TRUSSVILLE, Ala., July 16, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- C Spire, making good on its broadband expansion promise into neighboring states, began accepting consumer pre-orders today for its ultra-fast, fiber-based Gigabit speed internet and related services in parts of Jasper and Trussville, Alabama.

While portions of the two Alabama towns will be the first to receive the services later this year, other parts of the cities as well as additional communities, including Helena and Tuscaloosa, have executed franchise agreements with C Spire and are already on the drawing board for 2021.

C Spire executives unveiled construction and service timelines in the two towns and potential plans for other areas during a virtual press conference Thursday with state and local elected officials and other stakeholders, who stressed the importance of broadband infrastructure to the state's economic, education, healthcare and agriculture future.

Alabama ranks 38^th in the nation in broadband access and state leaders have made access to fast, reliable and affordable internet for rural areas a priority through state funding and creation of the Alabama Rural Broadband Coalition, a group of community, business and government leaders dedicated to job creation, economic development and business growth.
