CA Again Among Best Channel Vendors in Business Solutions Magazine Survey

ISLANDIA, N.Y., Jan. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CA (Nasdaq: CA) today announced that it has again been named one of the "Best Channel Vendors" in a survey of Value-Added Resellers (VARs) conducted by Business Solutions magazine. This latest accolade marks the third time in the past year that Business Solutions readers have recognized CA's channel-only storage business and its strong Recovery Management software offering, which includes CA ARCserve Backup and CA XOsoft High Availability.

"One of the largest of its kind, our Best Channel Vendors survey gives resellers a unique chance to identify the cream of the IT vendor crop," said Sue Bresee, publisher for Business Solutions magazine. To ensure the statistical accuracy of the Web-based Best Channel Vendors survey, Business Solutions partnered with Penn State University who counted more than 12,000 votes cast from 1,354 unique resellers.

Vendors were rated on a scale of 0 (worst) to 5 (best) in seven categories including service/support, channel friendly, channel program, product features, product reliability, product innovation, adequate VAR margins. Respondents rated CA highly across all categories, giving it the highest marks in "Product Features" and "Product Reliability."

One VAR commented that "they continuously introduce new features without increasing the selling price. Deduplication in r12.5 is almost free."

This is the second year in a row that CA was named one of the Best Channel Vendors by Business Solutions magazine. Also, in another survey conducted by the publication last fall, resellers ranked CA ARCserve Backup and CA XOsoft High Availability among the "Best Channel Products."
