Cabinetworks Group's Independence plant named 2026 Manufacturer of the Year by SEDCOR

Oregon manufacturing facility recognized for its skilled workforce, stable employment and investment in team member and family health and well-being

INDEPENDENCE, Ore., Oct. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Cabinetworks Group, the country's largest privately held cabinet manufacturer, recently announced its Independence, Oregon manufacturing plant has been named the 2026 Manufacturer of the Year by the Strategic Economic Development Corporation (SEDCOR), a nonprofit organization that works with business and community partners to retain and grow businesses, attract investment and support jobs in Oregon's Willamette Valley.

The annual awards and membership meeting was held on September 30 at the Salem Convention Center. During the event, SEDCOR awarded Cabinetworks Group with the 2026 Manufacturer of the Year award, an accolade that recognizes a facility's role as a stable employer, skilled workforce and commitment to people and community.

In recognizing Cabinetworks Group's Independence facility, SEDCOR specifically highlighted the free, on-site health clinic serving team members and their families.

"This recognition brings together two things that matter deeply to Cabinetworks: the products we build and the people who make them possible," said Jeff Jackson, chief executive officer of Cabinetworks Group. "Our Independence team brings craftsmanship and care to cabinetry that becomes part of homes across the country. Investing in their health and their families is one way we stand behind them, and we're proud to see that commitment recognized in the community."

The Independence facility is home to more than 200 team members and produces premium Medallion cabinetry. Its free on-site health clinic, which celebrated its official opening on March 2, is operated by Medcor, and provides care at no cost to team members, spouses and dependents. Services include preventive exams, treatment of minor illnesses and injuries, chronic condition monitoring and select prescriptions dispensed on-site.

The clinic is one of three on-site healthcare facilities opened at Cabinetworks Group's manufacturing plants across the country. By making care available where team members work, the company aims to reduce the cost and scheduling barriers that can make it difficult for families to get timely medical attention.

"It was a proud moment to accept this award on behalf of our entire Independence team," said John Hamlin, plant manager for the Independence facility. "This recognition belongs to our team members — the people who bring their skills to work every day, support one another and take pride in what we build together. We're grateful to SEDCOR for recognizing our team and the connection between a strong workplace and a strong community."
