Cadence Health Announces New Presidents for Central DuPage Hospital and Delnor Hospital

WINFIELD, Ill., Sept. 13, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Cadence Health, the health system created through the merger of Central DuPage Health and Delnor Community Health System, recently announced the appointments of Robert Friedberg to President, Delnor Hospital, and Executive Vice President, Cadence Health, and Brian Lemon to President, Central DuPage Hospital, and Executive Vice President, Cadence Health.

Mr. Friedberg, 50, replaced Thomas Wright, who retired earlier this year. Prior to being named President of Delnor Hospital, Mr. Friedberg was the Executive Vice President of System Operations and Integrated Services for Cadence Health and Chief Operating Officer for Delnor Hospital. Mr. Friedberg joined Central DuPage Hospital (CDH) in May 2004. Before joining CDH, Mr. Friedberg served as Senior Administrator at two Chicagoland area medical centers, managing a diverse array of departments and focusing on operational and financial improvements.  Mr. Friedberg earned his Bachelor's degree in Health Systems Management from the University of Rochester, and a Master's degree in Healthcare Administration from Cornell University.

Mr. Lemon, 58, replaced Mr. Vivoda, who was named Cadence Health Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in April. Prior to being named CDH President, Mr. Lemon served as CEO of Vanguard MacNeal Hospital, the Chicago-area flagship of investor-owned Vanguard Health Systems.  Since 2006, he led the executive team and oversaw management of this 427-bed hospital and related entities.  During this and a prior tenure at MacNeal, he contributed to the hospital's growth by serving in several progressively responsible management capacities including Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, and President and CEO. Between his tenures at MacNeal, Mr. Lemon was President and CEO of Holy Cross Hospital in Chicago. Mr. Lemon is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology. He completed his Master of Business Administration at the University of Detroit.
