California Community College Athletic Departments to Benefit from ImPACT Concussion Baseline Testing Offered by Student Insurance
PITTSBURGH, July 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Student-athletes at community colleges across California will benefit from a recently established partnership between ImPACT Applications, Inc. and Student Insurance of California. The partnership enables member institutions of Student Insurance's Student/Athlete Insurance Network (S.A.I.N.) to distribute ImPACT® concussion baseline and post-injury testing for their student-athletes. Student Insurance insures the majority of community colleges in California. Through this partnership, nearly 100 California colleges will have access to specially priced, state-of-the-art baseline testing to cover their athletes.
In addition, athletic trainers employed by schools in S.A.I.N. and other eligible colleges will have the opportunity to attend training workshops in specially priced packages and earn Continuing Education Units and BOC-approved Evidence Based Practice credits. The training provides comprehensive academic training on sports concussion management and ImPACT. At the completion of training, athletic trainers will become credentialed ImPACT Trained Athletic Trainers (ITATs).
