Calling all Children's Technology Companies: Now Accepting Nominations for the 2016 KAPi Awards

NEW YORK, Sept. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Living in Digital Times, Children's Technology Review and Digital Kids Media, three top names synonymous with quality kids' entertainment and education, have teamed up to honor the latest innovations in children's technology with an official call for nominations today for the seventh annual Kids@Play Interactive Awards (KAPis). The prestigious awards program honors digital pioneers who are reinventing kids play for a digital world.

• Pioneer Award to Person or Team Furthering Digital Kids

Any children's interactive media product, as long as it is sold commercially in the domestic United States and was introduced in 2015, is eligible to enter. These include apps, augmented reality, video games, web delivered content, mobile devices, smart toys, robotics, new combinations of physical/digital play experiences and more.  For the Pioneer Award, any team or person who has made a difference in kids' lives by harnessing the power of the latest technology can be nominated.

Nominated products and individuals are evaluated by a diverse expert panel of judges, consisting of respected publishers, editors from different media outlets and analysts. The judges' feedback combined with web viewership and "likes" will culminate in the selection of the final 10 winners.

Winners will be announced on December 27, 2015 and honored at a special awards presentation and cocktail reception at CES® 2016 in Las Vegas, NV. The black-tie-optional event takes place following the Kids@Play Summit at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Tech West (Venetian, Level 4, Lando 4301).

For the first time, CES attendees will be able to get hands on with these KAPi award-winning innovations in children's technology. A special showcase, sponsored by Digital Kids Media, featuring all 10 KAPi Award winners will be open daily in the Kids & Technology marketplace on the show floor at Tech West (Sands Expo, Level 2, booth #7486) January 6-9, 2016.
