Calling All High Schools Impacted By Hurricane Sandy

NEW YORK, March 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Rent the Runway, the leading online destination for designer dress and accessory rentals, announced today plans to throw a prom for a high school impacted by the devastation of Hurricane Sandy in November 2012. Hurricane Sandy brought unthinkable devastation to the U.S. East Coast, destroying homes, businesses and closing classrooms throughout communities. Rent the Runway, a Manhattan-based company, will provide one high school with a magical Cinderella prom. 

Beginning today through March 15^th, high schools will have the opportunity to submit their school for the ultimate prom experience. On March 25^th, three finalists will be announced as chosen by Rent the Runway's Prom Committee, comprised of the company's Co-founders – CEO Jennifer Hyman and President Jennifer Fleiss – Rent the Runway's Fashion Director Lucy Sykes Rellie, Teen Vogue's Editor in Chief Amy Astley, and My Fair Wedding's David Tutera. It will then be up to the schools and their communities to solicit the most votes for their school before the final winner is announced on April 1^st.      

With the help of Lancome, Drybar and Men's Wearhouse, Rent the Runway will ensure each student feels and looks their best for this magical evening. Leading up to prom, students will enjoy a VIP styling party to aid in their selection of the perfect head-to-toe look which includes their choice of a stunning designer dress or tuxedo, as well as hair and makeup services, to guarantee a complete and flawless look. In addition, an extraordinary prom venue transformed with elaborate decor styled by David Tutera, will host the prom. Students will be wowed by a spectacular surprise celebrity performance.
