Cambridge College Adds Distinguished Journalist and Massachusetts Educator to its Board of Trustees

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Nov. 28, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Cambridge College is pleased to announce that April Ryan, White House correspondent for American Urban Radio Networks and Jesse Solomon, Executive Director of BPE have joined the Board of Trustees at Cambridge College. Their appointments were made in October 2012. Ryan and Solomon join 13 other noteworthy business leaders, academics and journalists, who comprise the Cambridge College Board of Trustees. As members of the Board, these individuals serve as ultimate fiduciaries in their oversight of institutional affairs for the College.

April Ryan, is the Washington Bureau Chief, White House correspondent at American Urban Radio Networks (AURN). The 27-year journalism veteran has worked in that capacity since January 1997. During her tenure as White House correspondent, Ryan has conducted one-on-one interviews with Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton; Vice President Al Gore; Senators Hillary Clinton, John Kerry and a host of other dignitaries.

In addition to her White House coverage, Ryan also hosts The White House Report. Her work has garnered numerous professional awards, including being named one of the Outstanding Young Women in America in 1997. Ryan resides in Maryland, is a graduate of Morgan State University and the proud mother of two daughters.

Jesse Solomon is the Executive Director of BPE, an organization whose mission it is to drive exceptional outcomes for all students, by developing great teachers and great schools. With a belief that every child should have the right to a quality public education and that Boston can be the first city to fulfill that basic promise to democracy, Solomon founded the Boston Teacher Residency Program in 2003.

Mr. Solomon has been an instructor at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. He holds a BS in Mathematics from MIT and an MED from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. He currently resides in Jamaica Plain with his wife and 2 children.
