Cambridge University Press Teams up with Hujiang, Bringing in Top-class Educational Resources to Users in China

BEIJING, May 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- As the latest outcome of cooperation between traditional educational giant and the trendy online education expert, representatives from Cambridge University Press (CUP henceforth) and Hujiang, China's largest e-learning platform, signed an agreement of cooperation between the two parties regarding educational resources on a busy working day of April 23^rd, 2015.

With the rapid growth of the online education industry, the public has been paying ever greater attention to the quality of educational resources provided by e-learning platforms. High-quality educational resources will boost further development in this area. Cooperation with world leading educational publishing companies will optimize the industrial structure and promote the internationalization of the online education industry in China. As to Hujiang, to bring in top-class educational resources is nothing new. Before the agreement with CPU, it has started cooperation with world famous publishing houses, presses, as well as star teachers for years. With world-class educational resources, Hujiang has worked out an innovative way of developing online courses with the help of classic textbooks.

The agreement regarding the Unlock project between CUP and Hujiang this time allows Hujiang to use a series of textbooks for online teaching and spreading. In other words, the online courses with both educational and internet attributes developed by Hujiang on the basis of those textbooks will be branded as the achievement of the cooperation between CUP and Hujiang. It means that the e-learning platform will not only play the role of bringing in the educational resources, but also help with the localization of the original books to make them suitable for online courses for Chinese learners. This protects and shows respect to the copyright of the original books. Moreover, it bears the significance of innovation and exploration.

Hujiang Vice President Mr. Chang Zhitao gave a welcoming speech at the ceremony. I believe, with our joint efforts, an advanced online education pattern will be figured out." In fact, the contact between CUP and Hujiang started much earlier. After the signing ceremony, representatives from both sides had in-depth exchanges. Hujiang has innovatively developed the online education pattern of combining printed books, APPs and online courses, which works well in spreading and popularizing high-quality educational resources. The two parties will see a lot more further copyright cooperation in educational resources  in the near future, including spoken English, business English and English for young learners.
