Campus Management, Pearson eCollege Announce True Web Services Integration
Software solution links student information and learning management systems
BOCA RATON, Fla., June 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Campus Management Corp. and Pearson eCollege today announced a software integration that links in real time Pearson LearningStudio®, a next-generation Learning Management System (LMS), with CampusVue® Student, the leading student information system (SIS). The new solution creates an integrated approach to online education that speeds and simplifies the exchange of essential student, instructor, program and course-related data between the companies' products.
Now available from Campus Management, the CampusLink(SM) Web Services linked with Pearson LearningStudio allows customers to synchronize course masters and term class scheduling, receive real-time updates to enrollments and instructor assignments, simplify importing of course attendance and final grades and provide students and faculty with single sign-on access to online academics through the CampusVue Portal.
Pearson LearningStudio with Campus Management's CampusLink Web Services leverages true Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) for elegant integrations between different software systems. Combined with Microsoft .NET Framework components and Microsoft BizTalk Server, the APIs provide a standard operating environment with parallel processing and scalability, requiring little to no maintenance when systems are upgraded. The solution is designed to conform to IMS standards, ensuring the Student Information System, the learning content and the Learning Management System communicate seamlessly with each other.
"Student retention and instructor workload are two major challenges for online education," said Timothy B. Loomer, president and chief executive officer of Campus Management. "Integrating with Pearson LearningStudio, our objective is to make the student experience as seamless as possible and to reduce administrative chores for faculty."
"The integration of CampusVue Student and Pearson LearningStudio offers customers a simple, seamless way to effectively manage and deliver a unified student experience as their online enrollments continue to grow," said Matt Leavy, chief executive officer of Pearson eCollege.
