Canon China Forms a new Professional Printing Product Group to become No.1 Printing Company in China

BEIJING, March 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Canon (China) today announced the official integration of previous Dutch company Oce China, whose business in China will be merged into a new business unit of Canon (China) ---- Professional Printing Product Group. Canon also launched a series of new products as the first move to achieve its target of the integration: become the No.1 presence in the Chinese printing industry. Several Canon executives attended the conference, including Mr. Hideki Ozawa, President and CEO of Canon (China) and Canon Asia Marketing Group, and Mr. Wilbert Verheyen, former CEO of Oce China and newly appointed as Vice President of Canon (China) and Canon Asia Marketing Group, responsible for the Professional Printing Product Group, as well as His Excellency Mr. Aart Jacobi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of The Netherlands.

By teaming up, Canon and Oce are uniquely positioned to deliver their vision of becoming the No.1 Printing Company in the China market. According to Hideki Ozawa, President and CEO of Canon China, the merging between Canon (China) and Oce China is the best example of two multinationals bringing their strengths together. With the leadership position of Oce in production printing and the brand advantage of Canon, it is a "1+1>2" deal.

His Excellency Mr. Aart Jacobi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of The Netherlands, stressed the importance of innovation for China and pointed out how international cooperation across borders leads to innovation.

Canon and Oce jointly announced the merger on November 16, 2009. The two companies have been making preparations for the organizational integration. The existing sales and service organizations of Oce are completely merged into the Professional Printing Product Group of Canon (China).

As of last year, Canon (China) launched "Color Strategy" with a range of activities focusing on color. Canon's consumer inkjet printers are now holdingthe 1^st position in the market. Its business laser printers are marching toward the leading position in China's business printing market as soon as possible. The new Professional Printing Product Group will triple Canon's share in China's professional printing market. The new team will definitely make breakthroughs in professional printing and will from the start contribute to Canon's aim for the No.1 position.
