Canva and Monotype Bring 1,000+ More Font Styles to Creators Around the World

• Expansion broadens typographic choice across Arabic, Bengali, Hindi, Khmer, Lao, Thai, and Vietnamese, giving Canva creators more ways to design across languages, markets, and communities.

WOBURN, Mass., Sept. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Monotype Imaging Inc., a global leader in type and technology, and Canva, the global visual communication platform, are expanding their partnership to bring greater typographic choice to Canva's global creator community, adding more than 1,000 new font styles from Monotype and its global network of foundry partners. The expansion brings the total number of Monotype and foundry partner font styles available in Canva to more than 3,000. 

The expansion significantly broadens typographic choice across languages and writing systems that have historically had fewer professional-quality font options available in creative tools, with substantial additions in Arabic, Bengali, Hindi, Khmer, Lao, Thai, and Vietnamese.
 
Canva users translated over 17 million designs in 2025, highlighting the scale at which Canva's community is creating across languages and markets. As that activity grows, creators need more than just fonts with the right language support; they also need enough typographic variety within those languages to create work that feels distinctive and true to what they want to say.
 
Canva and Monotype worked together to curate the expanded collection, drawing on Monotype's library and global network of independent foundries and designers. Spanning serif, sans serif, display, script, and text designs, the collection gives creators more choice in how they communicate and express themselves.

Some of the largest increases in typographic choice are across Hindi, Bengali, and Vietnamese, with the expansion adding 99 Hindi families and 298 styles, 72 Bengali families and 237 styles, and 114 Vietnamese-supporting families and 249 styles. 
 
The wider collection also expands options across Arabic, Khmer, Lao, and Thai. Highlights include typefaces such as Basis Grotesque™ Arabic from Colophon Foundry for Arabic, Noort Bengali from TypeTogether for Bengali, Shree Devanagari from Modular InfoTech for Hindi, Seewelai from Anagata Type for Khmer, Handset™ Sans Lao from Monotype for Lao, Malila from Cadson Demak for Thai, and the Vietnamese-supporting Brisket Script from Måns Grebäck. 

The expansion builds on the partnership Canva and Monotype established in 2023. Since then, fonts from Monotype and its foundry partners have been used in more than one billion Canva designs, underscoring the importance of typographic choice to Canva's global creator community.
