DUBAI, UAE, September 25, 2017 /PRNewswire/ --
166-bed specialty hospital is the UAE's first fully sub-acute, outpatient and long-term rehabilitation facility
InterSystems, a global leader in health information technology, and Capital Health's Specialized Rehabilitation Hospital (SRH), the nation's first comprehensive rehabilitation hospital, have announced that they will implement the InterSystems TrakCare® unified healthcare information system, to enable SRH to become a fully digital hospital.
This will further support the clinicians in making better informed decisions and improving patient safety. TrakCare will also enable SRH to create a consolidated view of each patient's history on any authorized Internet-connected device.
SRH is being developed to cater to an increasing number of patients requiring specialized rehabilitation services and often travelling abroad to receive treatment. To that end, SRH will provide world-class, evidence-based medical care closer to home.
SRH will be offering the whole continuum of rehabilitation care for all ages including sub-acute, long term, outpatient as well as home care rehabilitation services. Specialized therapeutic services will be provided in multiple dedicated therapy areas by best-in-class physical medicine physicians (Physiatrists), Rehabilitation Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Speech and Language Pathologists, Recreational Therapists as well as Social Service/Case Managers.
In addition to the specialized rehabilitation services, the hospital will offer full-fledged 24-hour critical care units (ICUs and PICUs).
"Our main focus is to enable our patients retain their abilities to the greatest extent possible so that they can lead a better life," said Dr Mishal Alkasimi, CEO of Specialized Rehabilitation Hospital. "Real-time patient information is crucial for our medical staff to make informed decisions and that is what we are going to achieve with the deployment of InterSystems TrakCare in our hospitals."
"We are honored to be working with SRH on this important project to help improve the quality of life for the patients who need rehabilitation care," said Michel Amous, InterSystems Managing Director for the Middle East, Italy, and India.
TrakCare will also be deployed at Capital Health's newly developed Health Shield Medical Center (previously known as Emirates French Hospital prior to the takeover by Capital Health).
SRH is managed and operated by Capital Health, a UAE-based private healthcare group with the overall objective of building a healthcare platform with a focus on physician-led patient experience and quality.
